The Downtown Lakeland Partnership is proud to continue this Lakeland tradition. The 20th Annual Holiday Walkabout is the opening to the holiday season in Lakeland, and there is no better place to kick off the holidays than in Downtown Lakeland. 

If you want a gift that doesn't say "I was mass produced at a department store" then shopping in Downtown Lakeland is for you.  There are so many unique stores with uncommon gifts.  Shopping should be fun for you. So get from behind that metal cart and out of the conveyorbelted check out line and GET DOWNTOWN!  If your gift giving says something about YOU, then shopping Downtown Lakeland say "I care about the quality and uniqueness of the gifts I give.  I take the time to find just the right thing."

PLUS fast friendly personal service - Most stores offering free gift wrap.

LRMC Foundation partners with the Walkabout each year with the Lights For Life tree lighting and concert in Munn Park (6pm). LRMC also sponsors free children's activites in the park. Many area schools and churches perform holiday music and other entertainment throughout the streets of Downtown.  Retail stores, restaurants and many of the services business are open during the walkabout for holiday shopping, dining and open houses.

Pictures with Santa require the purchase of $5 worth of Downtown Dollars.  You can use those downtown dollars (at participating retailers) towards dining or shopping purchases at the walkabout, use them for stocking stuffers or keep them to use later!  They are good for ONE YEAR!

Parking Info:

Parking is a snap for this event. FREE parking in the Main Street garage. Public parking entrance is now located on Cedar Street.  Also the parking lot on Bay Street is open and can be accessed from Tennessee Ave.  There is another parking lot on Oak Street between Tennessee and Kentucky.
