It’s that time again! The Annual Dr. Scissorhands Pumpkin Carving Exhibition is this Saturday. Eight local doctors – surgeons, cancer specialists, a veterinarian: come see what they create! The carving begins at 9:30 and the auction is at 11. We’ll have a costume contest at 10:45, kids’ crafts, the bloodmobile, swag from Peace River Center, poinsettia pre-order table, Hall Communications’ staff, and a boatload of our favorite vendors! This year, our vendors are competing for your votes for their best costumes! It is a fun time and we hope YOU join us at the Downtown Farmers Curb Market this Saturday. Wong Shun Leung is a Wing Chun fighting legend in the martial arts world with over +100 wins in no rules, no gear, no holds-bar fights, and no loses using Wing Chun Kung Fu (Ving Tsun). Wong Shun Leung was renowned for winning all of these challenge fights using Wing Chun (Ving Tsun) to prove the validaty of the style. Wing Chun is an extremely empowering and effective style of martial arts. Carlson Gracie a Brazilian Jiujitsu and Vale Tudo Legend wanted Wing Chun Kung Fu for Vale Tudo fighting. Vale Tudo fighting is a very brutal style of fighting with minimal rules (much less than the cage fighting of UFC, XMA, RFC). He loved the directness, quick speed, and reactions of the Wing Chun (Ving Tsun) fighter.

The Hispanic Club of Lakeland will celebrate the 13th Annual Hispanic Festival at the Lake Mirror Promenade and Barnett Family Park.  Thousands of participants from all cultures will gather to enjoy a family day with the music, dance, food, art and overall Latin flavor from a diversity of countries.  This is also an opportunity for businesses who are hoping to reach the ever growing Hispanic population to display their products and services.
The main purpose of this festival is to raise funds for charity and to promote goodwill and excellency among  the local students with Hispanic heritage by means of scholarships.
