Enjoy the visual and performing arts throughout Downtown Lakeland on February 3rd. From school children to professionals, photography to painting and dancing and singing, local talent will be showcased throughout Downtown. Who knows, you may pick up a tip or two, or discover a hidden talent.

CALL TO ARTISTS (and musicians, dancers, poets, authors, and theatrical performers) — Set up a booth to sell your originally produced pieces (no buy-sell will be allowed). Building on prior year’s success, the 2012 Brewz Crewz Craft Beer Festival in Downtown Lakeland promises to be even better.  This year’s event will feature a VIP level that gives ticket holders the chance to have an exclusive preview hour with the brew meisters, allowing them to enjoy the beer, food, and music at a more leisurely pace.  General admission will get fans unlimited beer tastings, food samples, and music.

We’re hard at work hammering out the details for this year’s event, so check back often.

Let your fancies take flight and your imaginations soar during this First Friday.  Sun ‘N Fun brings a taste of their world of aviation to Downtown.  You’ll have fun with paper airplanes and helicopter pyrotechnics, hot air balloons, flyovers, and other flight-related demonstrations and displays.  Of course, there’ll be great music through out Downtown, including a big band in Munn Park.

It’s that time again! The Annual Dr. Scissorhands Pumpkin Carving Exhibition is this Saturday. Eight local doctors – surgeons, cancer specialists, a veterinarian: come see what they create! The carving begins at 9:30 and the auction is at 11. We’ll have a costume contest at 10:45, kids’ crafts, the bloodmobile, swag from Peace River Center, poinsettia pre-order table, Hall Communications’ staff, and a boatload of our favorite vendors! This year, our vendors are competing for your votes for their best costumes! It is a fun time and we hope YOU join us at the Downtown Farmers Curb Market this Saturday.
