Building on last year’s success, the 2011 Brewz Crewz Craft Beer Festival in Downtown Lakeland promises to be even better.  This year’s event, scheduled for Saturday, February 19th, will feature a Platinum VIP ticket with an exclusive party room serving very rare beers – the type that there’s only eight cases sold in the state at one time.  VIP level tickets will have an exclusive preview hour to visit with the brew meisters and enjoy the beer, food from Bay Street Bistro and music at a more leisurely pace.  General admission will get fans unlimited beer tastings, food samples and live music.
The Downtown Lakeland Partnership and ElderPoint Ministries are already hard at work hammering out the details to make this beer festival run even more smoothly.  “There will be more sanitation facilities and a streamlined check in procedure”, says DLP Executive Director, Julie Townsend.   Jane Hammond, Elder Point’s Executive Director, is working with a company to develop a “smart phone app” to allow participants to locate their favorite beers at the festival and to find out more about the beers and where they are sold.  “We’re working to make this an interactive app that will enhance the festival experience,” adds Hammond.
Tickets are limited and will be available in advance on our website, “We’re selling only 100 Platinum VIP tickets at $100 each because this is truly an exclusive event,” says Eric “Bro” Belvin, event chair.  VIP tickets are $50 (400 tickets available) and regular tickets are $35 (1,500 available).

Attendees are asked ( not required)  to bring a donation of $5 worth of nonperishable food items OR a Publix gift card for the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables for ElderPoint Ministries.  ElderPoint Ministries provides a continuum of free home-based services to support healthy, safe and independent living for our older adult neighbors through interfaith volunteers. Downtown Lakeland will host Polk County’s premier craft beer festival Saturday, February 20, 2010.  This event will feature 50+ craft beers from Bernie Little Distributors, Schenck Distributors, and Florida Micro Beverage.  Harry’s Seafood Bar & Grille, Fresco’s Bakery & Bistro, Mimi’s Cafe and Natalie’s will serve samples of their great food.  Live music will complete this full-filled night.

Regular ticket gets 21 years and older in the door.  You get a taster cup to be used all evening – one per person, a wristband to identify you as a a paid, of age participant. Enjoy 2 oz. samples of the many fine crafts beers and tasty samples from the participating restaurants from 6 to 9pm while entertained by live music.

TICKETS: $25 in advance, $35 day of the event Tickets are sold ONLINE. You may buy tickets at the door, but only cash will be accepted at the door.

VIP TICKETS: $40 in advance, $50 day of the event. VIP tickets will include the above plus an event T-shirt, a fast pass for 5 beers of your choice, and access to the VIP room where there will be seating, sampling and private bathroom access.

DESIGNATED DRIVER TICKETS: $20. (Must be over 21 yrs old) Designated drivers in your party will be given a special identifying wrist band and no sample cup. Non alcoholic beverages will be available.
