Each year in October, instead of the regular general meeting, the DLP hosts the State of Downtown Luncheon and Auction to share with members and the community the progress and future vision for Downtown Lakeland.  This year’s event will again be held at the Lakeland Center’s Exhibit Hall West and will feature video presentation of Downtown by artist/photographer Mike Maguire.

Our program is Downtown Lakeland: Redefining Our Goals, Refining Our Future – Tamara Sakagawa, Community Redevelopment Agency Manager, CoL.

The following awards are given each year:

The Dudley Uphoff

The Dudley Uphoff Award is given to the person who has consistently contributed to the promotion and development of Downtown Lakeland.

The Golden Swan Award is given to the business that has consistently contributed to the promotion and development of Downtown Lakeland.

The Partnership Award
The Partnership Award is given when deemed appropriate by the DLP Executive Committee to the person or group who consistently promotes the true meaning of partnership by going above and beyond the boundaries of their job description in improving the image of Downtown Lakeland making it a vital and energetic destination.

Unlike the Dudley Uphoff Award and the Golden Swan  Award, city employees and elected officials are eligible for the Partnership Award.
