Snow Fest

The City of Lakeland Parks & Recreation Department is proud to host the 29th Annual Snowfest at Lake Mirror on Saturday, December 4, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

In addition to the traditional Snow Mountain, a visit from Santa Claus, children’s entertainment, jumbo inflatables and food vendors will complete the day.

Price for admission to the Snow Mountain  will be a donated canned food item or a $1.00 cash donation. All canned food items will be donated to Polk County Senior Orphans charity. Admission to the jumbo inflatables will be $1.00.

The City of Lakeland will officially open the Sunflower Preschool Playground on Saturday, December 4, 2010. Designed for children 3-5 years old, Sunflower Preschool Playground is a new addition at Barnett Family Park on Lake Mirror.  The playground features age appropriate equipment that provides maximum early childhood developmental and play opportunities.   The development and funding of Sunflower Preschool Playground is modeled after the successful Common Ground that continues to provide inclusive play for thousands of children each week.
Sunflower Preschool Playground is a joint community project created and envisioned by The Lakeland Rotary Club, the Lakeland Kiwanis Club, the Barnett Family and the City of Lakeland.
