Explorations V Children’s Museum received some excellent news this week. The George W. Jenkins Fund within the GiveWell Community Foundation awarded a $25,000 grant to the museum.
This grant was made in response to the application submitted as part of GiveWell Community Foundation’s 2016 Impact Polk competitive grant cycle, according to a press release. To receive this funding, the Museum submitted the “ACE Achievers Camp” application in fall 2015 to provide scholarships for elementary students from low income homes so they could experience hands-on adventures in learning at STEAM Summer Camp.
“With support from the George W. Jenkins Fund within the GiveWell Community Foundation, we’ve woven remediation into the fabric of the art and science programs,” said CEO Georgann Carlton. “The children are having a blast and 73 percent are doubling their learning gain over the summer.”
