All visual and performing artists are welcome. Registration deadline is Sept. 30.
Participation is free for those who wish to perform. Artists who wish to sell their original or copies of their original artwork must purchase a $25 booth space.
“Lakeland has talent, and this First Friday event is devoted to providing an audience where artists can showcase that talent,” says DLP Executive Director Ellen Simms.
First Friday events attract crowds ranging from 3,000 to close to 10,000 people.
“Many local artists never get to perform in front crowds this size, or to have this many people see their art,” Simms says. “We’ve worked for years to cultivate crowds at First Friday events, and we hope artists’ exposure to our audience results in booked gigs for the upcoming holidays and helps artists sell their work.”
Artists and performers of all types are invited to participate. The only caveat – it must be family-friendly.
Examples of entertainers the DLP seeks include:
- Belly dancers
- Stilt walkers
- Living statues
Artists interested in performing during October First Friday – Friday Night Live, must pre-register here. For Ticket Type, select “Theme Special.” All artists and performers must pre-register.
A placement map will be sent to all registered exhibitors on the Wednesday before the event.
