Outside Covent Garden on a rainy evening in 1912, dishevelled cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle meets linguistic expert Henry Higgins. After delivering a musical tirade against “verbal class distinction,” Higgins tells his companion Colonel Pickering that, within six months, he could transform Eliza into a proper lady, simply by teaching her proper English.

Free Christmas Concert – December 3, 2011

Southeastern University will host a free Christmas concert on December 3 in the Bush Chapel located on campus at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will include performances by the SEU Jazz Band, the SEU Wind Ensemble, the SEU String Orchestra, the SEU Orchestra, and the SEU Chamber Singers with Concert Choir. There will also be a Christmas sing-a-long with the audience led by two of our music students. The community is invited to attend this special event.

Southeastern is located at 1000 Longfellow Boulevard in Lakeland. Parking is available across the street from the main entrance on Longfellow.

The City of Lakeland and NFocus will be showing “A Christmas Carol” this Friday, November 18, at dusk on Lake Mirror. This is the last Pics on the Promenade for the Fall. Admission is free, and feel free to bring blankets, chairs, and picnic.
