The Polk Theatre presents Cabaret at the Polk, featuring the music of Johnny Cash.

If you missed it the first time, Cabaret at the Polk is back for six more shows! Outstanding area artists, Brian Sutherland, Craig Morby, Sarah Machinia, Kimberly Milton and Sharon Clark present original arrangements of the music of Johnny Cash as you’ve never heard it before. Cabaret-style seating on stage makes this show unique and intimate.

January 7, 13 & 14 at 7:00 Pm and 10:00 PM each night.

Tickets are $15 and are available online at www.polktheatre.org, by phone at 863-682-7553, or at the Theatre office located at 139 South Florida Ave, Lakeland, FL 33801.

There is a $3 handling/facility fee per order.

Free Christmas Concert – December 3, 2011

Southeastern University will host a free Christmas concert on December 3 in the Bush Chapel located on campus at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will include performances by the SEU Jazz Band, the SEU Wind Ensemble, the SEU String Orchestra, the SEU Orchestra, and the SEU Chamber Singers with Concert Choir. There will also be a Christmas sing-a-long with the audience led by two of our music students. The community is invited to attend this special event.

Southeastern is located at 1000 Longfellow Boulevard in Lakeland. Parking is available across the street from the main entrance on Longfellow.

On Friday, November 4th, Arts on The Park was transformed into the Second Annual Artists Showcase and Holiday Market with new, extended hours on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays throughout the season.

Our “Timepieces” are part of this year’s edition.

We are so excited to be part of the Downtown Lakeland Community! We are a photography studio who just opened up at 308 E. Lemon Street, suite 107 (second door on right). We specialize in on location photography and love to utilize the downtown area to get most of our great shots! We had a wonderful time at the First Friday passing out flyers and meeting all our new neighbors! We are so happy to be in our space and have already made some fast friends. Brooke Pottery Ornament Unveiled at First Friday

Please join us this evening as we unveil the design for the 2011 Brooke Pottery Ornament during First Friday, November 4. For the third year, Brooke Pottery held a summer Kids’ Art Contest to design our annual holiday ornament. Awards will be presented at 7pm to the three finalists. Come help us recognize the creative efforts of these young artists tonight!
The 2011 Holiday Ornament will be for sale beginning Thanksgiving weekend during Brooke Pottery’s Ornaments on Parade. We donate 10% of ornament sales to the Needlework Guild of America, a non- profit organization that provides clothing for local school children in need.
