As a part of Black & Brew’s 5th Anniversary Celebration we are relaunching our open mic night…. with a twist. Black & Brew’s “One Mic Stand” will be an open mic competition in which six contestants will compete for a $100 cash prize. We are holding auditions for our competition on March 6th from 6 – 9p.m. at Black & Brew, 205 East Main Street, Downtown Lakeland. We are looking for all kinds of talent: Musicians, Vocalists, Spoken Word and even Comedians.

We are also looking for volunteers to serve as judges on competition night (Thursday, March 17th). For owner of music schools, recording studios, or talent agencies: this could be a great opportunity to connect with potential customers. Four judges will independently score the contestants based on four criteria. The contestant with the most accumulated points between the four judges will win. You will have an opportunity to introduce yourself and make a plug for your business or organization if you so choose. I’ll even buy your dinner.
