Treasurer’s Report – Jean Bunch: we currently have $39,531.76
Program – Frank McCaulley: The Arts
Lori Powell introduced Mike LaPan from the Lakeland Center. Mike spoke about upcoming events and a mystery artist TBAL with the initials of EJ. The Lakeland Center partners with Polk Theatre, has entertainment facilities, The Yokey Theater, Jenkins Arena as well as meeting rooms, Sikes Hall and Exhibit Hall. Broadway Series, Entertainment Series and Special Engagements.
Albert Moehring, the new ex-director of the ISO spoke about 45years serving Lakeland. There will be ISO and Opera, school concerts and will be collaborating with the other arts groups to make Lakeland a “hub for the South”.
Meridith Sprissor, Polk Museum of Art – 9 galleries on 2 floors, displays change every 2-3 months. Museum hosts many events, Red, White and Blues, Family Day, Mayfair, Black Tie Gala, Quanza Celebration. Education classes for children and adults. 1st Sat every month workshops, Lectures.

Lake Mirror Classic – Oct 15, 16 and 17th – streets will be closing at 5am, Main Street will be closed, goodie bags will be passed out, and certificates for $5 off food or retail with $3 buy back
LDDA – Anne Furr- Sidewalk signs must have all forms when turning in. 2011 budget meeting, Sept 20th at 5:35. Farmers Market opens today, hours, Sat 8-2, Wed 11-2
Ex Director – Julie Townsend – Downtown Dish, get your advertising in, items needed for goodie bags, watch the webisodes, let the city know you want pics on the promenade and music on the promenade
LDDA Candidates’ Forum Tue Sept 28th at 6pm at Lakeland Police Dept Community Room
Arts on the Park is open every Fri 5-9
