Most disasters are localized – fire, tornado, flooding, employee sabotage
Importance of a Plan – Threat assessment, Vulnerability study, Communications plan
Resumption of Operations – need to get back in business quickly
Where are you vulnerable? Paper files, Roof, Laptops, Windows, Water damage, Power outage
Basic Preventive Measures – Secure fire safe, Fire proof filing cabinet, Fire extinguisher – TEACH employees how to use, Emergency footlocker – individual packets of needed materials
More Complex – hardening windows, alternate power source (generator), protection of files, cover with heavy plastic sheeting, mobile operation center
Post Disaster Actions – Contacting Employees: two way phone tree (land line back up), Voice message for employees and clients
Re-establishing Operations – Command and Control, service customers, Communication, with clients/customers, Taking care of employees and families
Chris Wendel – CompuMend, Inc.
Back up data – 3 Physical: on location, back up device-local, back up off site
Inventory of equipment – make, model, serial #, service tags, and pictures, take inventory, software, take away from location
Practice – so you know how long it takes to implement, writ it out, give to employees
Computers – inscript the data, put a password on it, take a copy of inventory
Bell Arch-Commercial – lists what is on computer.
Have a Radio
Electric Storms – battery backup with surge protection – DON’T plug the printer into the battery, surge protection strips, and check fills it covers

Membership – 165 members, want to reach 210 in 2010
First Friday – Bicycle Night – bike show block of N Kentucky, Ridge Trail Racers- bike tricks throughout evening. Geocache Event starts, Mike Miller, 12 locations. Mon-Sat tracking card @ LDDA location, General Store after, throughout June
July – Sundown Celebration – family style picnic games
July 3rd – Red Whit and Kaboom 6-9pm
Executive Report – discussed advertising in Downtown Dish Magazine, let Julie know
New Business – Food Drive for Fairfield Marriott – kid friendly food
Critter Watchers are collecting supplies for SPCA
Tri County Downtown Lakeland asking for donations
Community Theatre – June 11 and 12, Theatre Read in connection with Museum.
Big Brothers/Big Sisters looking for mentors
