Minutes: Kay Morgan – May 26, 2010 Approved, Jean, Dan 2nd
Treasurer’s Report: Jean Bunch – Dan moved, Tim 2nd, Approved
Membership: Tim Calhoon – goal, 210 in 2010. Have contest, event to welcome new/prospective members, give small gift cards, downtown dollars. Has talked to Gus about hosting, Frescos will donate food. Randy has agreed to help Tim
First Friday – July 2nd – DLP bake off; Ovations providing pies, using Wakeman Rm, pies need to be delivered by 5:30, judges, Trent Rowe and wife, Mike LaPan, Frescos – cupcake eating contest. Kiddie Train, Dunk Tank for Watson Clinic Foundation. 210- Corn Hole. N.Ken – min to win it games, water balloons. Geo cache ends at General Store.
Marketing – Webisodes, with Eric Michaels and Mike Lee, check it out on web site. E-blast so information gets out, U-Tube Downtown Lakeland webisode, posted on face book, DLP site, 3-5 minutes, partnership with 98.3
Downtown Dish – working on, we have $4,100 in ad sales committed for next 4 issues, $5,400 to produce 20,000 copies. 15,000 inserted into The Ledger leaving 5,000 to pass out as always. Comes out July 27th, Ads due Friday July 9th, back page still open, cost $1,200
Brewz Crewz: Eric Belvin – Feb 19, 2011- can’t use entire park, need fencing, ask Williams to donate. Try to sell sponsorship to 98.3. Limit of 2,000 people, price increase $50 for VIP ticket only 400, this gets them in one hour early to meet vendors, then opens to general ticket holders 1,600 cost per ticket $35
Programs : Frank McCaulley – July – NO GENERAL MEETING , August – Polk Vision, September –open, October – Luncheon, November- suggestion, Mike Lapin(sp), Arts on the Park
Luncheon: Lori Powell – Prizes? Buy something to raffle?
LDDA: Anne Furr – Farmers Market will be closed in August. Way finding, location of signs, graphics, signs will be up in September. Next LDDA Board meeting July 15th, budget meeting, the budget has been cut. Parking in private lots, Marcobay and Heritage, Citrus and Chemical, city taking back some spaces to become metered parking. LDDA elections in July, package available for qualifying.
President’s Report: Ellen Simms – money will now flow from CRA not LDDA. Julie will be in Leadership Lakeland the 2nd Thursday of every month. Board Elections coming up.
New Business: Tim suggest a networking night, 1st Thursday of every month. July, at Natalie’s 6:30-?Tim also suggest having a “Guest Chef” at lunch ,have a special with proceeds going to a charity, this might also be a way to fund DLP
Paint Along Studio opens in August
