First Friday, Bicycle Night-June 4
First Friday is a free monthly celebration in Downtown Lakeland from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
Recurring First Friday features include:
- Live music and entertainment;
- A Classic Car Show on Tennessee Avenue across from Munn Park;
- Art Receptions
- Shops and restaurants are open late!
Look for special events sponsored by various merchants during First Friday.

June 4, 2010 – “Bicycle Night” – Ride your bikes to Downtown Lakeland and enjoy a beautiful spring evening in Downtown Lakeland.
• “Unusual Bike” Show 7pm -9pm – N. Kentucky Ave. between Mitchells Coffee House andBrooke Pottery. Lakeland residents were asked to bring their cool, antique or just plain unusual bike for us all to see!
• Geocache Challenge – Pick up your clues on S. Kentucky Ave. Details HERE
• Bike Tricks – Red Trail Racing will be performing bike tricks throughout Downtown. See their scheduled performances on S. Kentucky Ave. throughout the evening at 6:30, 7:30 & 8:30. Also watch out for the roaming stunt riders. These guys will amaze you with what they can do on a bike!

• Join Lakeland, Florida residents Randall M. MacDonald, Susan Priest MacDonald and Sarah E. MacDonald as they explore the differences between the Lakeland of yesterday and today. Historical images of eclectic buildings and notable scenes stand side by side with their modern equivalents in order to depict the changes that have occurred in Lakeland over the past century.

• Explorations V Children’s Museum, located at 109 North Kentucky Avenue in downtown Lakeland, will feature free decorations and a bike decorating area for those participating in the Munn Park Bicycle Parade during June’s First Friday. The table will be set up near the main entrance to the museum beginning at 6 p.m. Stay and play in the museum for half-price ($2.50) from 6-8pm!
• Almost Giant…a curious exhibit of words and pictures for all ages – at Mitchells Coffee House.
