DLP Marketing Meeting

8:00 Called to Order – Julie Townsend

Attending – Jim Molesk, Margaret Stephens, Lynn Dennis, Ellen Simms, Julie Townsend, Kay Morgan

Membership – New Members, Crescendo PR, Staff Builders HR, Historic Lakeland, Sparks Artistry, Network Handling, Highland Homes –Gold Member

Julie wants to have a membership drive, 210 in 2010. Ideas; incentive for those who bring in new members, have a thermometer in magazine showing membership increasing, make contact with past members. Amount of money you bring in get a decrease in next year’s dues. Watch for e-mail info. DLP card for VIP – get specials from merchants.

Events – FF June – Bike night, FDOT, helmets and lights? Bike tricks?, Explorations  V?, Traffic info – trails?  Ask Spring Obsession for poster of bike racks. Julie will call Mitch about meeting to discuss what he is doing. Julie will call Steve Scruggs and ask if his sons can bring uni-cycles. Police bike rodeo? Ellen will ask Charlie about rickshaw.

First Friday – July 2 – Fun picnic style games. 3 legged races, corn hole, water balloon toss, JP Henderson at Lloyds’, dunk tank, airplane stunts, yo yo stunts, Bounce House, Pie Baking Contest between the members and their staff, Julie will get the judges.

Red White and Kaboom July 3 – extra tables for eating, bounce house? Twisted Art ?, musicians

Goodie Bags – generated $950, Julie will send out final proof. Stuffers – watch for e-blast with time needed

Downtown Dish Magazine – Aug, Sept, Oct, up- coming events.  Our Ledger contract is up, if they start printing our magazine, they will insert 15,000 every quarter with 5,000 being distributed as now. The map can be updated monthly, existing advertiseres will keep same rate, new advertisers up $25,

First Friday – try to get sponsors, we have Mid FL for Sept and Sun-n-Fun for March

CRA Board has been expanded, Bill Mutz has been appointed

Arts on the Park – Karen Segerman, Chairman of Board
