Pi(e) Day at Brooke Pottery March 13 & 14
Come celebrate the coolest of numbers, pi, and the birthday of one of the world’s most brilliant thinkers, Albert Einstein, with Brooke Pottery this weekend. Of course, we all learned in school that pi is the symbol for the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, and that pi = 3.1415…. Pi Day is celebrated by people who love cool numbers (such as former math teacher and Brooke Pottery co-owner Margaret Stephens) on March 14 (3/14, get it?). This day is also Albert Einstein’s birthday, so the universe is just bursting with mathematics-related awesomeness on March 14!
To celebrate, Brooke Pottery will be serving a double dose of pie all weekend. Stop by the shop to get a free taste of real pie. Then enjoy a special pi-discount: Get 14% off your first 3 items! (Limited to 3 items, but these will be your 3 most expensive items.) We are excited to share our wonderful assortment of newly arrived garden art with you, like our handpainted bunny gourds and glass garden stakes. Article continues….

When you come down to celebrate Pi Day with us, don’t forget to check out Spring Obsession in Munn Park on Saturday, March 13 (9am-4pm). Spring Obsession is a celebration of garden, art, and music featuring local and regional nurseries, garden vendors, and art for and about the garden. Spring Obsession provides funding for beautification and cultural development in Lakeland. So come enjoy a free family day of activities. Explore the many flowers and plants for sale, attend garden presentations, purchase art for the patio, and listen to live music from the jazz band Free Time.
One last note about Spring Obsession – one of our favorite artists, Don Nedobeck, will be attending. We told you a bit about Mr. Nedobeck back in December: he creates wonderfully whimsical art, mostly of animals showing off their excess of attitude. Mr. Nedobeck has also illustrated numerous children’s books, for the child in all of us. If you weren’t able to meet him in December, please come see Don Nedobeck on Saturday!
