Florida Dance, Innovations-April 17

Greetings!
Florida Dance Theatre will present an evening of contemporary dance on Saturday, April 17th at 7:30pm at the Polk Theatre. The performance will feature the premiere works by Artistic & Founding Director Carol Krajacic-Erkes and Resident Choreographer Ferdinand De Jesus, along with other pieces choreographed by members of the professional company. This event is also a gala benefit for FDT, and a pre-performance cocktail party and after-party in the alley behind the theatre are planned to accompany the perfs
The highlight of the evening will be the encore performance of The Innocence Project, a piece inspired by the story of James Bain. Bain was wrongly convicted of a rape and spent 35 years in prison before he was acquitted and released in 2009. The Innocence Project premiered at Platform Arts’ “Disorder in Court” in February, and was well received by the audience.
The performance will begin at 7:30pm, with doors opening at 7:00pm. VIP admission (RSVP required) is $50 and includes a pre-performance cocktail party at 6:00pm, reserved seating at the performance, and an Alley Party with music by The Sofa Kings afterwards.
General Admission to the performance only is $20 for adults, $15 for college students with I.D. and $10 for children age 12 and younger. Admission to the Alley Party is an additional $10.
