February First Friday NOT to be Rescheduled
The weather calls for rain again this Friday night, February 13. Because of the needed advance preparation for the dancing component of the First Friday event, we are not attempting to reschedule for Feb 13 as originally hoped.
Please make plans to attend March’s First Friday.
First Friday is a free monthly celebration in Downtown Lakeland from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
Recurring First Friday features include:
- Live music and entertainment;
- VIEW ENTERTAINERS’ BIOs
- VIEW FOCUS TV VIDEO
- A Classic Car Show on Tennessee Avenue across from Munn Park;
- Exhibitions by local artists (more info on participating is below); and
- Shops and restaurants are open late!
Look for special events sponsored by various merchants during First Friday.
MARCH THEME: Downtown Unplugged / Oncology On Canvas
Are you a musician looking for a place to play?
Then join us for Downtown Unplugged! We encourage all talented folks out there who wish to perform to register to play on the streets of Downtown Lakeland for our all acoustic music event.
Why all acoustic? Because last year performers were drowning each other out. So this year NO AMPS! That way more folks can participate and no one gets overpowered!
Just fill out the registration form. We will contact you with your location as soon as the registration for the event ends.
The March First Friday will also be the venue for Oncology on Canvas. Streets will be closed and filled with artwork from cancer patience who expressed their journey with cancer through art.
