20 Breweries Participating in Brewz Crewz, So Far
The Brewz Crewz Craft Beer Festival in Downtown Lakeland has 20 breweries committed to bringing 50+ beers to Polk County’s premier beer event. This event, scheduled for Saturday, February 20, 2010, will provide attendees with a 2 ounce sample of each beer while enjoying great tastes from Harry’s Seafood Bar & Grill, Fresco’s Bistro & Bakery, and Natalie’s Sports Bar & Grill.
Live music from local musicians will entertain throughout the evening. The Matthew Wengerd Trio will kick off the evening. A jazz trio in the classic sense, the Matthew Wengerd trio plays the kind of jazz you’d expect to hear in a smoky Village club. It’s the tender buzz of Miles Davis and the encompassing rapture of John Coltrane. If you’re looking for Kenny G, go somewhere else. This is jazz, man. The Jug Brothers Band, a jug band that has been together for 31 years, will take over next. Billy Needs A Beard will finish off the evening. A motley collection of friends who, for the past five years, have been playing and writing music together. Their backgrounds are different, and their tastes are eclectic, but their goal is the same: to find a way to blend the music they make with the sensibilities of getting older in the modern world. Combining harmonies with acoustic instrumentation, and presenting a mix of originals and covers.
