New Exhibition Opening at PMoA Next Weekend
Polk Museum of Art’s newest exhibition will open to the public next weekend, November 14, and this one will definitely be a good one for anyone who likes surrealism or photography.

Jerry Uelsmann, Untitled, 1976, Gelatin Silver Print, 20 x 16 inches, Polk Museum of Art Permanent Collection, 2008.2, Purchased in honor of Judy Barger for her years of service
The exhibition, The Surreal Photography of Jerry Uelsmann, is a 50 year retrospective of the work of this former UF photography professor. Uelsmann is a pioneer of the field of darkroom photo montage, and has been creating composite images from his negatives since long before Photoshop was invented. His work is dream-like and definitely imaginative.
The exhibition will run through January 17, so be sure to bring your family and friends while they’re here for the Holidays. If you would like to know more about his work, Uelsmann himself will be here to talk about it at the opening reception for the exhibition on November 13. The lecture begins at 6:00pm, and then a light reception will be held immediately afterward. Admission to the reception is free for Museum members, $10 for non-members.
