DLP Board Meeting • November 25, 2009

Treasurers Report Jean Bunch, more dues have been collected, we received the LDDA check, auction income was up, net income 66% that’s good news. We now have monthly credit card billing and will add on-line payment; however there is a fee for this service.

Executive Director’s Report up date of membership due to Dr Hatten’s death, there are two board positions that are unfilled, there is no rush to fill these. Kevin Jones suggested Al Green, Jean Bunch suggested Rob Tate, and Margaret Stephens suggested Shari Szabo. Holiday Events: walk-a-bout, PSCHS will help with Santa photos, volunteers needed between 5 and 6 pm to walk around and check on set ups, maps of locations and times, meeting with city about electricity, extra police, e-mail coming. Maps will be handed out at DLP booth and in stores. E-ads have started. Shop “outside the Box”. Stores open on Sunday’s. Jingle Jams- dancing.

Chair Reports

Membership – Tim Calhoon: Feb downtown at dusk hosted by Vintners and Frescos. We now have 147 members

First Friday – Jim Doig: Feb is Dance the Night Away – We will have schools on both ends of the street. Tim has contact with jump house.

Brewz Crewz – Eric Belvin: Eric and Julie have met with brew providers, and police. Streets will be closed. Park rental, Food, Fresco’s and Harry’s

Nix Mix – Randy Anderson: Wed, December 2^nd at the Garden Bistro, 5pm

Programs – January, Recycling

Luncheon – Lori Powell: The room has been reserved. Entertainment? How much?

Parking – Jim Nixon: no report but some discussion. Easel signs, soon to be approved, ask community development – Farmers Market, Tony Delgado

LDDA – Dec 3^rd in CC conference room at 8am. 3^rd Wing #1 Brand campaign – next meeting Dec 14^th at 8am. Contract not signed, working on that. Way Finding, RFP proposals due Dec 11^th presentations from short list, 3 year contract. Signs must be out by May 2010. Have GEO cache different times of year. Templates for ads – Downtown Template and an infinity card for participating merchants.

President’s Report: – Dec 3^rd General Meeting, can you attend? Check your calendar.

Discussion DLP is a balancing act between members and non-members. What are the benefits? Why become a member? Marketing, e-blast, blogs. Entice “out of town” members to move downtown. Promote Downtown as a whole, highlight benefits, and adjust fees? Jeff Holden replaced his boarded up windows. Jim Nixon is working on Blue Sky. Fresco’s is expanding. LMHH March 20, 2010 bring tour downtown? Have trolley? Lori Powell would like to incorporate a bus route between the Lakeland Center and Downtown. Thanks to Gray-Robinson for sponsoring the carriage rides.
