DLP Marketing Meeting

Ellen let us all know that Julie was at the hospital. She later up-dated us, Julie had her appendix out.

                  Hispanic Festival on Lake Mirror

Oct 31^st   Dr. Scissorhands pumpkin carving contest and auction at the Farmers Market Steve Debats will be the auctioneer.  Proceeds go to Viste. Costume contest.

Holiday Inn South – Costume contest. They also have a Buffet and live entertainment on Tue. Nights.

Nov 5^th Artonomy –J Rowen Gallery

Nov 6^th First Friday – Salute to Veterans and Service Clubs

Kentucky Ave :  cloggers , dancers performing to the music of the  Nutcracker, Banners for                 Veterans , High School Honor  Guard and ROTC Drill Teams, and Student  art.

 The ISO will be performing on Lake Mirror at 8pm. Pops on the Promenade

Nov 7^th   Veterans Day Parade Starts at the Lakeland Center ends in Munn Park

Nov 14^th-15^th Art and Food Fest on S.Kentucky and E. Lemon benefits Watson Clinic Foundation

                  Culmination of Art Contest at Fast Frame children aged 6 to 11

Discussions

We talked about how to get the ISO moved downtown for future performances. Have a picnic    fee for Munn Park? Box dinners? Ask restaurants to donate portion of receipts to offset cost to ISO?

We need to work on marketing, and having activities every weekend, entertainment venues, and recruiting new businesses.

Jim Doig would like to see an end of the N. Ken/S. Ken.  split.  Have activities listed as on Kentucky Ave in hopes that people will walk the full length of Kentucky.

Make sure everyone gets a “dish” as they pass.

Store hours, possible to start staying open later? Sun?

Next Downtown Dish goes out next week.
