October 16th, 2009 2:28 pm | by

If you’re looking for something to do with the kids before the trick or treating starts, why not check out another culture’s holiday?

Polk Museum of Art is presenting a Day of the Dead Celebration and Workshop on Saturday, October 31, 1:00 – 3:30pm. “El Dia de Los Muertos” is a traditional Mexican holiday that honors the lives of deceased ancestors. At PMoA, children can learn about this cultural holiday by creating a Day of the Dead altar and mask, and then parading through the Museum wearing their masks. The parade ends with the breaking of a pinata.

Admission is $2 per child, $5 per adult. Children MUST be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call PMoA at 688-5423.
