Meet Two Lakeland Artists at Brooke Pottery on First Friday

September 29th, 2009 4:02 pm | by

Mosey around downtown this Friday evening to explore a feast of visual and performing art at Downtown’s First Friday Art Walk. Art in the park, art in the galleries, and art in the shops.  At Brooke Pottery, local birding enthusiasts Rob Mason and Linda Snavley will show off Rob’s outstanding photographs of Florida birds. Rob’s photo postcards have been a hit with visitors and locals alike, particularly his wonderful images of Lakeland’s mascot, the white swan.  Let Rob and Linda amuse you with birding stories – maybe they’ll even reveal a few favorite locations for stalking the winged wildlife of Polk County.

Linda Walther Snavley is a children’s book illustrator from Detroit, Michigan. Her ink pen & watercolor drawings have commemorated life’s joys for over 50 years. Now living in Lakeland, Linda continues to draw and paint. She has also reproduced a collection of her favorite drawings of children as limited edition prints and note cards, both available at Brooke Pottery. These sentimental illustrations would make the perfect gift for a baby shower or a young child’s birthday.
