Mayoral Candidates’ Forum

Networking & Continental Breakfast: 7:30 AM
Meeting: 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM

This mayoral candidates’ forum is focused on issues of importance to Downtown Lakeland.  The agenda is as follows:

8:00 AM – 8:05 AM – Welcome & introductions – Kevin Jones, DLP President

8:05 AM – 8:10 AM – DLP Board of Directors Elections

8:10 AM – 8:15 AM – Outline of forum process – Moderator

8:15 AM – 8:25 AM – Each mayoral candidate will be allowed to speak for 3 minutes on any subject he wishes. *

8:25 AM – 8:50 AM – The moderator will ask questions of each mayoral candidate from a list of previously identified topics of which the candidates have been made aware.  Each mayoral candidate will have 3 minutes to respond to each question.  The moderator may ask one follow-up question of each mayoral candidate. **

8:50 AM – 8:55 AM – Introduction of city commission candidates – Moderator

8:55 AM – 9:25 AM – The audience may ask questions of any of the candidates.

9:25 AM – 9:30 AM – Closing remarks – Kevin Jones, DLP President

* Coin flip determines who speaks first.
**First question/response goes to whoever lost first coin flip.  Subsequent questions alternate.
