PMoA Taking Enrollments for Summer Art Camp Session 3
Polk Museum of Art is currently taking enrollments for Summer Art Camp Session 3, which runs July 6 – 17.
“As a parent and a former teacher, I couldn’t be more thrilled with the outstanding art education my boys are getting at Polk Museum of Art,” said Christine Ferguson, a parent of Summer Art Campers. “My sons love picking their schedule of unique art classes for the summer like ‘Mud Madness,’ ‘Green Art,’ and ‘Performance Play.’ I love that my children are exposed to professional art within the museum and then, through the creative genius of these amazing teachers, my boys recreate this same artistic expression in class.”
Children ages 5 – 13 can enroll for up to 3 classes per day, and classes include drawing, painting, sculpture, wearable art, performance play, stage craft, green art, and edible art. All of the classes offered during Session 3 will have a South American theme. Classes are taught by certified art teachers and/or art professionals. Teachers and Museum staff have been background checked in accordance with the Jessica Lunsford Act.
The cost per child, per class is $100 for Museum members and $115 for non-members. Discounts are given if a child takes more than one class.
Volunteers are also needed to assist with Summer Art Camp. Area high school students are encouraged to volunteer, and service hours will be given, if needed.
