READ Lakeland is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community through teaching basic literacy skills to adult nonreaders and promoting adult and family literacy. We offer one-to-one tutoring and small group instruction to the 24% of adults in Lakeland who are functionally illiterate. This means that they cannot read medical instructions, fill out an employment application, understand a bus schedule, or read a simple story to a child.
