The Imperial Symphony Orchestra’s 2008-2009 season ending Subscriber Celebration and Annual Meeting took place in a casual business after-hours gathering on May 19 in the J Rowan Galleries, 123 S. Kentucky Ave.  The end-of-season mixer for ISO patrons and members also served as the setting for Orchestra’s Annual Meeting of Members.

Governance Committee Chairman Brock Self presented the slate of nominees.  New Directors elected for a first term are Jennifer Nixon, Lori Powell, Henry Tucker, Sandra Sheets, Janet Shearer, Kathy Cook and Norma Vaillette.  Directors elected for a second term are Martha Linder and Barbara Shaw Douglas.

A photograph of the Orchestra was presented to outgoing President, Curt Wheeler in appreciation of his work during the year.  Wheeler passed the ceremonial gavel to Martha Linder who takes the office of President on July 1, 2009.  Other Directors to take office on July 1 include First Vice President Tom Mack, Second Vice President Lu Fitzwater,  Treasurer – M.C. Pruitt and Secretary – Lesley Chambers.
